She's Getting Too Big!!

So our baby is ginormous! So big in fact that we had to call in Grandpa Bryan to readjust the crib! She was starting to stand up with the support of the objects around her (as evidenced by previous posts). She had learned that by grabbing the top of the crib and pulling, she could stand. When she stood, she could almost bend over and "escape" from the crib. Needless to say, We promptly suspended our little Av from the crib and called in the master of maintenance.


The process of lowering the bed has begun!


Along with lowering the crib, we needed to readjust the car seats to cater to Avril's huge (wide and tall) torso.

Amy's Baby Shower!!

My good friend Amy Rapp is about to pop! She is due on November 20th but that baby girl is getting ready to come out any day now. Amy was already dilated to 3 cm and 70% effaced at the time we had this baby shower. I was just hoping she wouldn't go in to labor before or during the event.
I have never thrown a baby shower for someone before so I was very excited to have one for Amy. Ina and her mom helped me out... and it turned out to be a great time!


Here are some of the decorations... the diaper cake was made by Ina's mom and Ina helped. I made the baby cupcakes (with help from my mom-in-law, Carme). The bread at Macy's you can get made in different colors, so we chose pink of course and had cute little pink chicken sandwiches! There was also a chocolate fountain with yummy strawberries to dip! Mmmm....


Avril enjoyed her chocolate strawberry. Mommy helped her eat it :)


These are my absolute FAVORITE pics!! There was a little 4 month old baby boy who Avril just couldn't get enough of... he seemed to have had enough of her though! Hahaha, I LOVE his facial expressions! Poor guy... Avril is a little too forward, we haven't taught her that some boys don't like being bitten in the face!

Looks like Avril wasn't the only one to enjoy that chocolate! This little girl was so cute... she would follow Avril around and pet her cheeks. It was just adorable!


Jesse works with Amy at the hospital so there were several of his coworkers at the shower. He told me to make Avril look cute since they would be meeting her for the first time. I think we did a good job following his instructions. :)

Look Mom! I Can Stand!

Yesterday when I went to get Avril from her crib, she was standing up and leaning over the railing. We need to figure out how to adjust the crib soon because I worry that she'll be able to get out soon. That will be Jesse's job... I have no idea how to do that.
In this video I am standing in the bathtub, prompting her to pull herself up to standing position and she actually obeys me! :)

Our Lil' Punkin!

Grandma Carme helped us carve this pumpkin out yesterday, and today I cut some leg-holes out for our lil' punkin' head. Avril was surprisingly compliant. She had a great time, mainly because she found out that her ensemble was edible and started sucking on the pumpkin and even got a good chunk of it to break off in her mouth! We had to get her to stop sucking long enough to take a picture. The only problem with this clever outfit is getting the baby out, we found. She started crying because we couldn't maneuver her out as easily as we had plopped her in. We had some friends over watching the Vikings game (boo hoo, sad game) and it took a whole team of us to get her legs out. Must be those chunky thighs :)

8 Months!

My aunt, Trish Glenn came up from Salt Lake to celebrate her birthday. Avril thought we were celebrating her 8 month birthday, which was today. The family all went to eat at the Coppermill. Avril LOVED the potato soup!

I Got ANOTHER New iPhone!

I had the original version of the iPhone and it had SOOO many problems. I had to drive down to Salt Lake, a 2 hour drive, to the Apple store every time it needed to be fixed or replaced. Very frustrated, I got the new version yesterday. The salesman convinced me that this one does not have any of those same problems and so far (after 1 day) I'm impressed... Now I can take videos on my phone! Here is one I tried out...

This past weekend we got to go see my dear former roommate, Lindsey Davis, transform in to Lindsey Walker! She looked amazing and we are soooooo excited for her and her new hubby!

 The Bride and Groom

All of Lindsay's bridesmaids.  This is no joke!

It was quite cold outside, and poor Avril has nothing on her feet! Before you judge... we are not bad parents. She did have tights and shoes on in the car ride down. However, there was a major catastrophe of the poo kind and upon arrival, we had to dash to the bathroom for an emergency change. The result was a cleaner, but less warm Avril. Her tights and undershirt are in the wash as I type this, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Spray 'N Wash works its magic, resulting in stain-free whitey tighties. :)

Halloween Shopping!!

So I am way excited for Halloween this year. We have 2 cute Halloween costumes already for Avril and I just decided what Jesse and I are going to dress up as. I'm not going to say yet, cuz I'm not positive it will work and it's a surprise!!
We went to the thrift stores with my mom and had such a great time looking for costumes. It was a huge success! We had so much fun. We also found this cute little Shrek outfit for Avril:

She's already getting too big for most of her clothes and we're starting to run out!! I NEVER thought that would happen! She just grows so fast!

I Didn't Marry Him for his Fashion Sense...

Avril will either be really embarrassed or get a good laugh out of this picture someday. So I was out with a friend at the store and Jesse was watching Avril at home. He called and said he had to go to football practice so I should meet him there to pick up Avril. These were my words: "OK, well make sure she is wearing warm clothes and a hat." I busted up laughing when I saw how he'd taken my advice...

Avril in her pajamas with a Christmas sweater over them, and a mini blue jean skirt (this is supposed to keep her warm). The pajamas have little sheep on them... nice match, huh? Oh dear, my poor child. The funniest part was that when I pointed out the hilarious outfit all his football buddies said they didn't even notice!! Boys...
