Look at Me, I'm 10 Weeks Old!!

I got this picture off of www.i-am-pregnant.com They have some really cool pictures of the developing fetus, week by week. It is amazing to me that such a tiny thing can make a person so sick! That is another reason I've been slacking on the blog lately, I just feel so sick all the time its hard to find the energy to do much of anything.

So, here's the story....
I went to the doctor a couple of months ago for a check up and the doctor asked me if there was any chance I was pregnant. I told him it was highly unlikely because I had recently miscarried and we weren't really trying at that time. He offered to check for me, while I was in his office and he went ahead and took the urine sample to determine if in fact I was pregnant. We went back in the waiting room and within 2 minutes he opened the door and said, "I think you should come back here for a minute." He showed me the test results and we almost fell over in shock. At that point I was only 4 weeks, 5 days. Here I was worried I couldn't get pregnant, and wow, I was already pregnant again!

Although we are very excited about the news, we decided to wait longer to tell people this time because we were of course worried that I would miscarry again. We were actually going to wait longer but it just became too difficult to hide due to the fact that I've been extremely sick for over a month now. It seems that I have every pregnancy symptom magnified to the maximum strength possible. I have heard these symptoms usually subside after the first trimester so I'm counting down the days. I had no idea my body could handle being sick for this long.

I am so grateful for my amazing husband, especially at this time. He has become my emotional support, the cook, the housekeeper, the errand runner, and still finds time to work. Somehow I've been making it to work every day but its been a real struggle. I especially have been having a hard time finding foods that I can eat. I feel nauseous from the moment I wake up until the moment I fall asleep and I can't keep most foods down.

So... for all you mothers out there I have a newfound admiration for you. So far pregnancy is not as blissful as I imagined, in fact quite the opposite. If you have any advice on things that have helped with morning sickness, I'm open to any suggestions! Despite my complaining, we are very excited and grateful for this blessing. Oh yeah, and the due date is Feb. 26th, 2009! :)

Remember when...

Okay Lindsey and Keesa I'm following your lead and posting my own now so be nice... :)

As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses.
If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments. Now remember...payback is a beast:) j/k....have at it. I deserve it.

P.S. Don't worry, I will put up another post with all my pregnancy details so just sit tight! :)

EARTHQUAKE- and more news....

First off, I have to apologize for my lack of blogging recently. We have been having computer problems, or more accurately, we have been lacking a computer. We still need to hook it up at our new place but no worries, we'll get to work on that eventually. Its on the list.

Next, we just experienced our first EARTHQUAKE! Now we feel like we're true Californians. Nobody needs to worry, it was kind of exciting. The epicenter was around Chino Hills, which is quite a ways from Santa Clarita, maybe a little over an hour from here.

There is a cool website: http://www.usgs.gov/ where you can check out all the latest earthquakes and geographical happenings. Its fun if you're kind of nerdy like me :)

The magnitude was a 5.4. At first I thought maybe I was nauseous because I've been experiencing a LOT of that lately (oh yeah, I'm PREGNANT again, I guess we can tell everyone now) then I saw all the lights moving around above the desks at work so I figured it was more than just my dizziness. I looked around and everyone was frozen wondering what they should do. It was just a short, fun little earthquake. I am still waiting to hear from Jesse as I'm typing this. I wonder what he thought of it, I don't think he's ever been in an earthquake before.

Anyway, that was our excitement of the day :) All is well and we are safe. Maybe we'll get some fun little aftershocks. Gotta go.... more to come!

Happy 4th of July!!

This year's 4th of July was a blast for us! We spent the day with our new friends: Sandy, Richard, Kim, little Gabe, and LaVelle. We took a drive down the 126 and stopped in Fillmore, CA for a train ride on their historic train. Gabe was so excited to ride on a real train! We then took a break for some delicious food, and then of course ice cream since it was a scorching hot day. They also had a classic car show and we got to see all the pimped out rides. Then we stopped to buy some super sweet fresh oranges on the side of the road. Mmmmm..... :)

Richard and Sandy, thanks for a fun-filled day!

Ali and her favorite man, on the train ride.

Kim was able to make it all day long pushing Gabe around in his stroller, while 8 months pregnant! Very impressive...

Here is a picture of a professional photographer (Richard)

This old lady actually moved which you can't tell from the pic. We got a good laugh out of her.

Gabe managed to get more on his exterior than interior I think :)
