Avril, Show Us Your Funny Face!

The latest on Avril:
Avril LOVES to push buttons.  If it has a button, it will keep her entertained for quite some time.  She has a little glow worm doll with a flower on the chest, and when you push the button it will light up and play songs.  Avril assumes that anything button-like in appearance will somehow light up or make a noise.  She goes around with her pointer finger sticking out, trying to find buttons to push.  If you are wearing a shirt with a design on the front, she will push it, expecting a response.  If daddy is not wearing a shirt, she will push his belly button, or his nipples, and a response she gets!  She is so funny, and she enjoys making us laugh.... this is why she has come up with a sure fire way to get a good chuckle from us...
I bring you....the surprise face!

In the bath water, Avril does the surprise face, and appears to have a seal impression down very well.

Haha, Avril you are too funny :)

It was a sad day...

We came so close...

Jesse, being from Minnesota, is a die hard Vikings fan.  He has rubbed off on me, and last year I even took him to Minneapolis for his birthday, to watch them play a game against the Packers.  We really thought this would be our year for the Superbowl.  This game was heartbreaking to watch.  The Saints won, in overtime, 31-28.  Time for bed.

11 Months

I can't believe that Avril will be ONE WHOLE YEAR old in just a month!!  I've said it before, but I'll say it again... she's growing WAY TOO FAST!

Today Avril was finally feeling like her usual bubbly, energetic self.  She has been sick all week long with her very first ear infection.  She is on antibiotics now and they've started to kick in so the fever is gone and she seems to be much happier.  It was not fun watching her be so miserable.  And I might add that it was also not fun having no sleep.  Hopefully now we can get back in some sort of routine.

Happy 11 months to me!

I'm such a cutie!

My daddy thinks I look like Michael Strahan (a football player with a big 'ol gap between the teeth)

what do you think?

I love being in my birthday suit!

Hold the photos please!  That darn paparazzi just won't leave me alone!

She's Guilty

I give you Exhibit A:

I turn my back for 2 seconds, and Avril has emptied the contents of the bathroom cabinet.  Yes, that is Clorox bleach.  Do not judge... I'm still a good mom, she didn't eat it or anything :)  Avril also enjoys putting the Q-tips in the toilet, along with the hair gel, diapers out of the trash, and any clothes left out on the floor.

She is naked because the clothes had to be removed since I'm pretty sure its not good for babies to wear clothes covered in Clorox.

Avril tries to reach for the camera so no pictures may be used as evidence against her...

Exhibit B:
Pants on the ground

If you've been watching American Idol, you've heard the "Pants on the Ground" song.  Avril must've taken this song to heart because one minute she was playing, fully clothed, and next I looked up to find a pantless baby.

But how can you get mad at a cute face like this?  Gotta love that baby girl!

Some Recent Videos

laugh it up, Avril!

clap yo hands!

more clapping...

You'll have to turn up the volume on this one cuz Avril is kinda quiet. She's saying "mamamama" while forming spit bubbles. This is one of her favorite pastimes.  So fun!

Her shirt says, "When God made me he was just showing off!" It was a gift from Grandma Carme for Xmas. Love it.

She Got it From Her Mama!...

As you may recall from a recent posting, Avril is very fond of making the "scrunchy nose face".  This is what it looks like:

I was looking through some old photos and found a striking resemblance:

This is Avril's mommy pulling the "scrunchy nose face".  Avril seems to have perfected it a little better than I though.  I'm so proud of the valuable things I've passed on to our daughter!

The First Post of the Year!! And its a Great One!!

Two years ago on this date:

(01-05)
This happened:

To celebrate, we dined here:

 ...and slept here:

My sweet, amazing, loving, sneaky husband planned all this behind my back and surprised me.  He even arranged for my mom to take Avril for the night so we could have some alone time.  It was absolutely fantabulous.  I must say, however, that I really missed that little cutie pie.  I was so worried about her that I texted my mom throughout the night to make sure she was ok.  Of course, my awesome madre took good care of our rug rat.
I often feel overwhelmed at how blessed I am to have such a wonderful husband and best friend.  I'm so glad we found each other.  I love you, sweetie!  Thank you times a million for our special day, and for making every day special!!

Us leaving on our night out :)

See what he puts up with?  He's a keeper!!
