Baby Laurel

My dear friend Amy... whom we threw the baby shower for, had a beautiful baby girl with TONS of dark hair. I know, definitely not from her mommy, right? She is so tiny I can't believe it!! We got to go visit that gorgeous baby and Avril got to meet her new BFF!

Its been awhile since Jesse held a little one like this... he seems a little out of practice haha.

She's just so tiny and cute and precious and beautiful and perfect and all those words you use to describe newborns!

The Head Shake

One of Avril's latest things is her emphatic "NO" head shake. She realized that it gets a laugh out of her audience so she does it purely to entertain us. It just cracks us up every time. She also will often bust this out while we're trying to feed her, making it impossible to get the food in to her moving target mouth.

Apparently Avril does not like boys and will not be poor :) Guess she wants to buy herself lots of toys and not share with those boys!

Our Montana Thanksgiving!

This year we returned to Montana for the big Turkey fest. We drove up in our car with Grandpa Bryan and Uncle Shelby in tow. Shelby and I were squished like sardines in the back seat, since Avril was hogging up all the room with her luxurious car seat. We stayed with Jesse's cousins, the Jackson family, ate lots of delicious food, played games, watched football, and just had a wonderful time. We are so glad we got to visit with family. Good times!
Also, Avril started getting her two front teeth up top while we were in Montana! She didn't even complain she was just so happy there :)

Bring on the food! -this hairdo has earned Avril many new nicknames, including Pebbles, Bam Bam, palmtree-head, and little sprout, just to name a few :)

Avril and Annie. I discovered that all the girls there had "A" names. Alicia, Avril, Annie, and Ally!

The brothers ready to play some Turkey Bowl football!

Yikes! I'd be intimidated by these guys, wouldn't you?

That's Charlie Jackson on the far right, and Jesse in the red sleeves. For some reason lots of these guys decided to wear shorts...?!?! Not our little Avril... you'll see how we kept her warm...

Here are some of Jesse and Shelby's biggest fans. Avril seems to be so cozy in Bryan's arms that she dozed off and took a little nap... because lets face it, this baby only takes little naps, never big ones.

Okay so it doesn't really match but at least she's warm.

After the game Avril couldn't wait to give daddy a big hug. Jesse played wide receiver (as usual) and Shelby got to play quarterback! They won the first game and lost the second.

cousins Annie and Chubbs

the whole Jackson/Yarger clan about to dine. Mmmm....

Avril just loved Aunt Star's cooking. She looked forward to every meal!

Aunt Star and Av :)

Newlyweds Charlie and Mindy holding Avril. So cute!

just the daddy and mommy :)

I'm taking a wild guess and gonna say they're watching football on TV.

Annie and Ally got Jesse the shirt he's wearing (it says Montana State Football), as a belated birthday present.

Me and my cute babe!

It was Annie and Ally's 20th birthday while we were there (they're twins) so they had a little birthday celebration!

The other photographer... my competition

Ally's look of surprise as she opens a birthday gift.

Palm tree head and me :)

Here's the cutie again!

Annie and Ally...

No way were other people going to open presents and little Avril get left out! Avril had a blast opening the already opened presents. It was hilarious to watch...

Avril playing peek-a-boo under the tissue paper.

How's the lighting? Did you get my best side?

Daddy took Avril for a walk outside. This is how he kept her warm...

Kinda reminds me of a baby kangaroo in the pouch!

Shelby and his friend Alexis

Jesse will be happy to know that Avril is a football fan. She clearly thoroughly enjoys watching the game... she's such a happy baby! We just can't get enough of this little bundle of pure joy!!

Mmm, Ice Cream!

To celebrate Jesse's birthday we ate at Golden Corral with all the family. Avril particularly liked the ice cream!

SYTYCD

Well, I have served 21 complete years of my sentence on earth. To celebrate my apparent immortality, my beautiful wife surprised me* with a trip to see So You Think You Can Dance Season 5 perform at the E Center. Our night began with a swift visit to Grandma and Grandpa Parkinson's (from Avril's perspective) to drop off Avril. Of course we had to take pictures and here are the results. The show was amazing and we had a blast! Great birthday present!

Before the main event of the night when we dropped the cute little baby off at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Ali and I are also pictured, but Av kinda steals the spotlight.

Because of Avril's spotlight hogging, we decided to take a picture without her in it. We are pretty good-looking if I do say so myself, we just don't get the opportunity to show it off because there is a little someone, who is cuter than us, sneaking into all our pictures.

There goes Ali trying to suck my blood again. She is a little tiny bit obsessed with Twilight. I'm just not Edward material.

She's still a trouble-maker...

The stage before the show. It was surreal to be there in real life!

First of all... I can do that.

The dancers informed me they took woodshop classes to improve their carpentry efficiency so they could nail their dances.

To summarize, there's dancing. Then there's da-ancing. This however, was da-a-a-a-a-ancing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Avril the Texter

Our little girl is growing up so quickly! Too quickly if you ask me. In fact, mommy wants to buy her a cell phone for Christmas. Avril is not opposed to this idea. She is already demonstrating more "phone proficiency" than her daddy. Mommy still has the upper hand on little Av but it's close.

You're in for a Thrill!

Alicia told me I get to contribute to the blog so these next couple posts are Jesse authored...

Tell me Alicia isn't the freakiest-person you've ever seen! You can't argue that the girl can get her funk on! Avril wins the cutest costume, duh. I was somewhere in the middle, more towards the scary end. The following are representative images of our night on the freaky October 31, 2009.

Avril as a pumpkin! She thinks she is 5 years old because right before the picture I asked her how old she was.

This is Alicia before she died and came back to life. Avril is being cute i guess.

If you are wondering how mommy died and was burried underground... look no further. She felt really bad though so she dug her mommy up. Pictures of scary mommy are to follow.

More creepiness for Halloween.. (Uncle Jared)

In an attempt to cover her dirty deed, Avril dressed as the lovable Minnie Mouse.

We visited Great Grandpa Parkinson and these are his trick-or-treaters.

Great Grandpa Parkinson Leopard!

And the moment you've all been waiting for... Mommy back from the dead!

Thriller/ Thrill/her!

Scary, but I don't need to say that. And yes, that is real hair.

The classic Thriller stance. There is something disturbing about a dead has been showing some leg. Kind of ...... different???

Ignore the man in the red pants.

And what would a post be without still-framed dancing? We really are amazing at the dance ps.

Like my jerry curl? Alicia liked it so bad she turned to reach for it, so I tried to run away, but my body would only go into that one position to run! Now that is scary!

Don't we make the perfect couple?

I double dare you to disagree!

Before you judge... I just learned this dance right before while I was at work. Alicia threatened me that she'd stay a zombie for good if I didn't learn Thriller for her. Too bad I still haven't learned the dance. Haha, just kidding Alicia. I love you.
